The ribbon was official cut Monday evening July 2 as the new Summa Emergency Department at Green prepares to open to patients at 7 a.m July 9. Nearly 1,000 people attended the event that featured tours, health screenings and refreshments.
“We are very excited that on July 9, we’ll begin providing emergency services to members of Green and the surrounding communities,” said Michelle Blanda, M.D., FACEP, chair, Department of Emergency Medicine for Summa.
“This facility represents our next step in enhancing the regions community healthcare, and took nearly a year to build.”
In attendance were many staff members from Summa along with city of Green officials. Green Mayor Dick Norton thanked all who were involved with the project especially city council and planning director Wayne Wiethe.
