Green offering yoga and children’s entertainment at Central Park

There is plenty to do at Central Park in Green this summer.

The park is offering yoga and a children’s entertainment series, along with the farmers market and outdoor concerts

New this year to the park are yoga classes 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday morning through Aug. 18. The Green Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with Cleveland Clinic Akron General Lifestyles to offer free fitness in the park. Classes are being led by instructors from Akron General.

Those attending should bring a yoga mat and meet at the amphitheater in the park. Transform classes will take place July 14, 21 and 28. Transform is a form of yoga and pilates involving athletic sport movements. Transform focuses on strength, power, athleticism, muscle lengthening, muscular definition, increased range of motion, increased circulation and improved breathing techniques.

In the case of inclement weather, classes will be canceled.
