Fundraiser setup for Chauncy Townes who was killed in Jackson Township motorcycle crash

A fundraiser has been setup to help the family of Chauncy Townes.

He was killed Saturday night in a motorcycle crash on Hills and Dale Road near Deer Trace Avenue. Townes, 29, was driving a motorcycle and heading east on Hills and Dales when when Rebekah Owen, 26, made a left turn from westbound Hills and Dales into Canterbury Commons Apartments and did not yield to Townes.

Townes was driving a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, which overturned and hit the left side of Owen’s 2013 Chevrolet Cruze.

Townes was ejected from his motorcycle. He was transported to Mercy Hospital where he died from his injuries from he crash.

The Ohio State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Townes was employed at AutoNation Ford North Canton.

Mihai Fuciu, a finance manager at AutoNation Ford North Canton has created the fundraising account and AutoNation is matching 100 percent of the money donated.

As of 8 p.m. Monday, 258 donations have been collected raising $10,514.
