The Coventry School Board and Financial Planning and Supervision Commission have approved the permanent appropriations for the 2018-19 school year.
The school board held a special meeting Oct.1 to approve the appropriations.
“Even though these are considered the permanent appropriations, they can be revised throughout the year, but it does take board action and approval for that to happen,” Coventry Superintendent Lisa Blough said.
The total amount of the appropriations was $25,805,738.
The Commission approved the appropriations in advance of the school board during its monthly meeting Sept. 28.
Also during the Sept. 28 meeting, the Commission approved to close out the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission account. The account was used for the building construction project with the new high school and the remaining money was transferred out. Commission Member Quentin Potter asked how many transfers still have to happen related to the construction project. Coventry Treasurer Sherry Tyson said this was the last one.
In other business Sept. 28, the Commission:
– Approved personnel items, contracts and purchase orders over $25,000.
– Approved the salary schedule for central office to add a night maintenance supervisor.
– Heard from Blough and Tyson about the accounting methods, which are expected to be completed by the October meeting. There are only three items remaining.
The next Financial and Supervision Commission meeting is set for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Coventry Elementary School.
